The 47th Edition of World's Strongest Man took place in Myrtle Beach on 1-5 May 2024. The competition was fierce and competitive with many new faces joining the familiar. Four of those athletes include the reigning Magnus Ver Magnusson Strongman Classic Champion, 2 athletes who competed at the 2023 Magnus Ver Magnusson Strongman Classic, and the first athlete who qualified for the MVM Strongman Classic 2024. Read on to see how they did!
Our current MVM Strongman Classic Champion, Tristain Hoath, came in on a late invite first as a reserve, then on the competitor list. Tristain not only won his group, but placed 5th in the final! He was spectacular to watch and many were impressed with his performance.
The first athlete to qualify for the MVM Strongman Classic 2024, Wes Derwinksy, made his first appearance and got through to the final by winning the stone off. Wes tied with Mitch Hooper and Tom Stoltman for the new keg toss record. He finished 6th in the final overall! A very impressive first appearance!
2023 Europe's Strongest Man, Pavlo Kordiyaka, who took 5th at MVM Strongman Classic last year, made his 2nd consecutive WSM final! Once again wowing with his performance on the Conan's circle and delighting crowds with his Axle pressing (and posing). He finished 8th overall!
Pa O'Dwyer, 6th at MVM Strongman Classic last year, took 6th in his group at WSM! As always he had the crowds laughing and enjoying themselves!
Job well done to these guys, and all who competed!
